Arsenal & Man Utd favourite Robin van Persie lands new role
Briefly

Robin van Persie has been appointed as the head coach of Feyenoord, following a stint at Heerenveen. He has a long-standing relationship with Feyenoord, having joined their youth ranks in 1999. Van Persie expressed excitement about returning to the club, stating his bond with them is special. He brings experience from his playing career and previous coaching roles, including time as a casual assistant and more formal positions at Feyenoord. His contract with Feyenoord extends until the end of the 2026/27 season, and his coaching staff includes former Manchester United assistant Rene Hake.
"Everyone knows how special my bond with Feyenoord is. I am enormously looking forward, together with a strong staff, to working with the player group at 1908 and then in De Kuip, supported by the Legion, playing matches and achieving successes together."
Van Persie moves with immediate effect from fellow Eredivisie side Heerenveen to replace sacked former boss Brian Priske. His contract runs until the end of the 2026/27 season.
The 41-year-old started his coaching career at Feyenoord as a casual assistant to coaching legend Dick Advocaat as soon as he hung up his boots.
Heerenveen took the plunge and handed Van Persie his first senior gig last summer, with Feyenoord bringing him back home' less than a year later.
