Antony reveals he rejected Bayern Muich move in favour of Real Betis return
Briefly

Antony rejected a reported Bayern Munich offer that reportedly would have doubled his wages and instead completed a permanent transfer from Manchester United to Real Betis, signing until June 2030. The move followed a successful loan at Betis where he scored nine goals in 26 appearances and helped the club reach the Conference League final, earning a Brazil recall. Betis will pay €22m plus up to €3m in bonuses, and Manchester United secured a 50% sell-on clause. Antony leaves United with 12 goals in 96 games across three seasons, having failed to justify the €95m transfer fee.
One day before the deal was completed, I spoke to the people at Bayern. But when I spoke to Bayern, I told them that the deal with Betis was 95% complete, and that I would honour my word. I would do so out of respect and love and because I know that I am very happy here. I don't know if they were offering me €7 million [in wages].
I would do so out of respect and love and because I know that I am very happy here. I don't know if they were offering me €7 million [in wages]. With all respect I have for Bayern, which is a world-class club, I am at ease with the decision I've taken. I don't know what will happen in the future but I feel very calm about the decision I've taken.
