Theres no place Id rather be right now - Man City trigger Miedema contract extension - Soccer News
"It's something [Director of Football] Therese [Sjogran] came up with quite early on in the season. She was like: 'I know that it's still far away, but we really want to keep you'. For me, I've always said that to her as well, there's no place I'd rather be right now than City."
"The steps we've made this season are really good, and I'm really excited to see what that leads to in the end this season, but also next season. We've signed amazing players, our team is getting stronger and stronger. The way we are connecting right now can mean we can make an extra step and a next step, too."
Manchester City activated a one-year contract extension for Vivianne Miedema, extending her deal through June 2027. Miedema joined City in July 2024 on a two-year contract with an optional third year. Despite injury challenges, she has been instrumental in City's 2025-26 season, starting all 16 league matches. She ranks second in City's goal-scoring with eight goals and five assists from 29 chances created, behind Khadija Shaw's 15 goals. Miedema expressed her commitment to the club, citing the team's strengthening roster and connection. City currently leads the WSL table by eight points over Manchester United, pursuing their first title since 2016.
