In truth, there wasn't a lot to learn about United from the game. It was similar to the FA Cup Final, setting up opportunities to get in behind, inviting City forward, and restricting them to just outside the box... Conversely, City's only shot on target was Silva's late goal.
There is sufficient evidence to suggest that this performance and the FA Cup Final are not signals of a new style of play, and United will likely see similar problems from last season exposed against opposition who don't play with the intention of passing teams to their doom.
