Rayan Ait-Nouri and Omar Marmoush have joined up with their respective national teams ahaead of the African Cup of Nations. West Ham have struggled so far this season, and are currently in the relegation places, but manager Pep Guardiola is mindful of the threat posed by the Hammers. "We are prepared. They didn't get enough [good] results, but they have drawn lately at Old Trafford and Brighton, and we know how difficult they are." he said at Friday's press conference. "They only lost at the end against Aston Villa [last weekend], who look almost unstoppable right now."
Manchester City host West Ham at the Etihad on Saturday with several senior players unavailable through injury and African Cup of Nations duty. City list Kovacic, Rodri, Stones, Doku and Bobb as injured, with Ait-Nouri and Marmoush away for ACON, but still field a deep squad and arrive on a five-match winning run. West Ham sit in relegation positions and have produced mixed recent results, including draws at Old Trafford and Brighton. Guardiola warns against underestimating West Ham and notes their recent resilience despite poor league form. Match officials and betting odds are provided for the fixture.
