In anticipation of Manchester City's Club World Cup clash against Juventus in Orlando, manager Pep Guardiola highlights the need for his team to adapt to the extreme heat conditions expected during the match. The forecast predicts temperatures reaching as high as 33C, contrasting with their previous game played in the air-conditioned Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Guardiola notes his team will rotate players and prepare for substitutions during the match, stressing that the heat will challenge all teams involved. Both Manchester City and Juventus have qualified for the knockout stages, heightening the importance of their finishing positions in Group G.
"The heat is obvious, we can't change it... We have to be ready to suffer," said Guardiola, emphasizing the challenges players face in extreme weather conditions.
"It's better to play at the Atlanta stadium, which is fantastic… all teams have to handle it," stated Guardiola, outlining the reality of competing in hot environments.
"We will play new players... in these conditions we are not ready to play 90 minutes, and at half-time we will make substitutions," Guardiola explained regarding player management.
According to Chelsea's Enzo Maresca, it has been "impossible" to hold normal training sessions due to a severe heat warning, showcasing the impact of extreme weather on preparations.
