Erling Haaland asked to be substituted during Manchester City's 3-0 win over Fulham after a heavy challenge and did not return after half-time. Haaland scored the third goal with his first Premier League goal from open play in 2026. Pep Guardiola described the issue as niggles and said Haaland felt uncomfortable, prompting a precautionary change with Omar Marmoush available. Guardiola said he had not spoken with the doctors and suggested the problem might be fatigue. Guardiola also linked the issue to the high volume of matches since Haaland began his season at the FIFA Club World Cup in June.
