The 13-person coaching staff combines coaches of different ages and backgrounds and centers on a shared hunger to prove themselves. Several coaches are stepping into roles for the first time, including Hunter Mense as head hitting coach and Justin Meccage as head pitching coach. Multiple assistants—Shane Robinson, Hector Borg, Frank Anderson, Jesse Chavez, and Christian Wonders—will make their major-league coaching debuts. Alex Burg adds field coordinator duties while remaining catching coach. Meccage spent seven seasons with the Pirates and led a Triple-A pitching staff that contributed to Milwaukee's strong ERA, while Mense served four seasons as an assistant hitting coach with Toronto.
