Vladimir Guerrero Jr. recruiting Kyle Tucker is exactly the buzz Jays fans needed
"A couple of Toronto Blue Jays have taken to social media in an attempt to try and recruit a superstar to come north. First, Myles Straw sent Tucker a funny message about baby sitting his child, after Tucker and his wife announced they were expecting. Now, it's Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s turn to get the rumor mill rolling again after he posted on Tucker's feed a few days ago. The post, an emoji and not an actual message, was more than enough to cause some excitement."
"Vladdy though is one of the most popular players in the game today and both he and Tucker have played on three AL All-Star teams together, and were All-Star opponents this past season as well when Guerrero represented the Blue Jays at the mid-summer classic and Tucker was there as a member of the Chicago Cubs. So it's not far-fetched to think that Guerrero, being incredibly outgoing, hasn't struck up a friendship with Tucker at some point over the past few years."
Blue Jays players have engaged Kyle Tucker on social media, with Myles Straw joking about babysitting and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. replying to Tucker's Instagram post with an emoji. Guerrero and Tucker have shared All-Star appearances and likely know each other personally, which fueled fan excitement about a potential move to Toronto. The social interaction occurred after a relatively quiet Winter Meetings period for the Blue Jays, who previously announced signings including Dylan Cease and Cody Ponce. Coming out of the meetings the Blue Jays added two bullpen arms, trading for Chris Lee and signing a free agent.
