Gerry Turner revealed his cancer diagnosis affected his decisions regarding his lifestyle and relationship with Theresa Nist, although she insists it wasn't the cause of their breakup.
Turner explained that his cancer diagnosis came around the same time he and Nist were discussing their future, adding clarity to the timing of their separation.
He shared, "As Theresa and I were trying very hard to find our lifestyle and where we were going to live... I was unfortunately diagnosed with cancer."
Turner was diagnosed with Waldenström's macroglobulinemia, an incurable cancer, after discovering unusual blood markers during a doctor visit related to a shoulder injury.
