Alan Busenitz, who went unclaimed on waivers, has been assigned to Triple-A Louisville. He can decline the assignment to pursue free agency instead.
Nick Martini was reinstated from the 60-day injured list and will not be added to the active roster after a lengthy recovery from thumb surgery.
Despite a rough start in the majors this season, Busenitz has performed well at Triple-A Louisville with a 4.07 ERA over 66 1/3 innings.
Martini initially excelled with the Reds, displaying strong hitting early in the season, but fell into a slump before being sent down.
