Red Sox Reportedly Considering Moving Rafael Devers To First Base
Briefly

"He is a third baseman," Montes de Oca told Speier, "and he will continue to play third base and work hard to get better at it. That's his position, that's what he likes to play, and that's what he will be playing."
The idea of moving Devers to first has been discussed previously by Ken Rosenthal and Jon Heyman, but McAdam's report confirms internal consideration for this shift.
Resistance from Devers's camp isn't the only obstacle. Triston Casas, an incumbent first baseman, remains under team control and has expressed interest in a long-term extension.
The Red Sox's interest in trading for Nolan Arenado highlights their intent to fill the hot corner should Devers indeed make a positional change.
