Prosecutors Say Ohtani's Interpreter Stole $16 Million From Star
Briefly

Ippei Mizuhara, the former interpreter for Shohei Ohtani, was accused of orchestrating a scheme that led to the theft of $16 million from the baseball star to fuel his gambling addiction.
Federal prosecutors have charged Mizuhara with bank fraud after uncovering that the money he took came directly from an account where Ohtani's baseball salary was deposited.
E. Martin Estrada, the U.S. attorney for the Central District of California, stated there was no indication that Mizuhara bet on baseball and that Ohtani did not authorize the $16 million to be given to bookmakers.
