Padres reliever Adam carted off with leg injury
Briefly

All-Star reliever Jason Adam of the San Diego Padres was carted off the field after collapsing in the seventh inning of a 4-3 loss to the Baltimore Orioles in San Diego. He collapsed while trying to turn toward Gunnar Henderson's chopper that took an odd bounce off the mound for an infield single. Adam immediately signaled for an athletic trainer and grabbed his left knee. After receiving attention from trainers, he was helped to his feet and placed on a cart with his left leg propped on the seat. Cameras captured Adam appearing to say he "felt something pop." The right-hander entered the game with an 8-3 record and 1.81 ERA. With the game tied at 3, Henderson's hit put runners on first and second, and Adam was replaced by fellow All-Star Robert Suarez.
