Nintendo's Switch 2 marketing blitz includes a big deal with MLB
Briefly

The Seattle Mariners have partnered with Nintendo to feature their logos as the team’s first official jersey sleeve sponsor, marking a unique precedent in MLB. Starting March 27, the Nintendo logo will adorn home jerseys while the Nintendo Switch 2 logo will be displayed on away jerseys, making the Mariners the first MLB team to differentiate logo use based on game location. This partnership reflects the long-standing relationship between Nintendo and the Mariners since 1992, despite Nintendo's sale of its stake in the team in 2016. The recent MLB agreement allows for such branding on player uniforms.
Nintendo and the Mariners have been inextricably linked since 1992. Now, our jersey sleeves will help serve as a reminder of all that Nintendo of America has done for the Northwest community and the team.
Nintendo's 'racetrack' logo will appear on Mariners' home jerseys, while the much beefier Switch 2 logo will appear on the team's away jerseys, making the Mariners the first in MLB to feature different marks.
Logos of video game companies appearing on U.S.-based sports teams is incredibly rare, with Seattle being an exception, having seen Xbox on the Sounders FC jerseys.
Advertisements on MLB jerseys were all-but forbidden before 2022, but the recent collective bargaining agreement allows for corporate logos on one sleeve of players' uniforms.
