Ken Holtzman, the left-handed pitcher who achieved two no-hitters for the Chicago Cubs and three World Series wins with the Oakland A's, died at 78 from heart and respiratory issues in St. Louis.
Holtzman, with 174 wins, holds the record for the most wins by a Jewish pitcher in MLB, surpassing Sandy Koufax. He had an impressive career ERA of 3.49 and was selected for the All-Star teams in 1972 and 1973.
