"Braden Montgomery was placed on the 7-day injured list Monday by the Birmingham with a small fracture in his right foot, according to reports from Chicago White Sox reporter Scott Merkin. The No. 1 White Sox prospect is likely to miss the remainder of the regular season after Montgomery was hit by a pitch from Chattanooga pitcher Julian Garcia on Saturday. Per Merkin, he is expected to be back in time to participate in the Arizona Fall League, however."
"Montgomery began his collegiate ball at Stanford, where he instantly solidified himself as one of the best outfielders in the country. During his freshman campaign in 2022, he hit .294 with 50 runs scored, 16 doubles, two triples, 18 homers and 57 RBIs. The list of accolades he accomplished with the Cardinal baseball program included Pac-12 Conference Freshman of the Year and Freshman All-American honors."
