Edwin Diaz Received Positive Feedback About Dodgers From Brother & Kike Hernandez
""Yeah, I did talk to Alexis a little bit when the conversations were getting close to signing with the Dodger," Edwin Díaz said. "He told me they're a really good organization and they treat every player like they are all really good players. "That was something I was looking for. He told me great things about the Dodgers, and made it easy for me.""
""Yes, I talked with Kiké a little bit before signing," Díaz said in Spanish. "He told me a lot of great things about the Dodgers.""
Edwin Díaz agreed to a three-year, $69 million deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers that includes a conditional option for 2029 and incentives for that season. The Dodgers had earlier acquired Alexis Díaz from the Cincinnati Reds but designated him for assignment on Sept. 4 after nine appearances. Alexis spoke positively about the Dodgers' treatment of players and relayed that impression to Edwin. Kiké Hernández informed president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman that Edwin's interest was genuine and also promoted the organization. The Dodgers formally introduced Edwin at a press conference and present him as their All-Star closer.
