Sauer signed a minor league deal with the Dodgers this offseason and made the roster for the Tokyo Series but did not appear in those games. He was optioned to Triple-A before the domestic opener, called up briefly, optioned again, and returned in late April to make his lone MLB start of the season. Sauer made 10 major-league appearances with a 6.37 ERA across 29.2 innings and posted a 5.86 ERA in 83 Triple-A innings. He is now eligible to sign with any team for the final weeks of 2025.
