Clayton Kershaw announced his retirement in September 2025 and made a final start at Dodger Stadium days later. He knew during the 2025 season that it would be his last and entered the postseason certain of retirement. Kershaw won his third World Series championship with the Dodgers in 2025. He spent 18 seasons with Los Angeles and earned an MVP, three Cy Young Awards, a Gold Glove, three ERA titles, and 11 All-Star selections. Kershaw surpassed 3,000 strikeouts, led active pitchers in ERA until retirement, and amassed 80.9 bWAR, the Dodgers' career high. The Dodgers retain a strong rotation including Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Roki Sasaki, Tyler Glasnow, Blake Snell, and potentially Emmet Sheehan. Kershaw is expected to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer and is remembered as one of the game's all-time great pitchers.
