Alabama Crimson Tide right-handed pitcher Pierce George was selected in the 13th round (No. 379 overall pick) by the Chicago White Sox on Day 3 of the 2024 MLB draft.
George transferred to Alabama from Texas Longhorns after a short stint with Texas recording a 0-0 record with a 13.50 ERA in just two innings pitched.
In his one season at Alabama, George showed improvement with a 1-0 record, 4.38 ERA, and 11 strikeouts in 12.1 innings pitched.
George has the option to either continue playing at Alabama or begin his professional career with the Chicago White Sox, with a decision expected soon.
