The Cardinals are nearing a multi-year agreement with utilityman Brendan Donovan, which would secure his salary for his initial arbitration seasons and strengthen their roster.
Outfielder Lars Nootbaar is expected to agree to a one-year deal soon, although discussions for a multi-year agreement have not reached a conclusion.
