"A former fifth-round draft pick of the Toronto Blue Jays continues to add teams to his lengthy resume. Cavan Biggio has just signed with a team that has become a perennial playoff contender, so naturally they are hated by every other fanbase; the Houston Astros. Of course there are other reasons people don't like the Astros that involve signs, stealing, trash cans and more, but we don't need to rehash that here."
"It's been a long and winding road for Biggio to stick in the majors since 2024. He was traded by Toronto to the World Champion Los Angeles Dodgers for reliever Braydon Fisher at the deadline but was released in August. Later that month he sigend with the San Fancisco Giants but didn't play in a big league game with them before he was traded in September to the Atlanta Braves."
"Biggio played in four games with Atlanta to finish the year and then entered free agency for the first time. He was brought into the Kansas City Royals organization for 2025 and after 37 games where he produced a -0.2 bWAR, hitting .174/.296/.246 he was sent to the minors and put up a decent stat line in 41 games with Triple-A Omaha. He hit .285/.375/.464 with only 37 strikeouts and 20 walks in 176 plate appearances."
Cavan Biggio, a former fifth-round Toronto Blue Jays draft pick, has signed a minor-league deal with the Houston Astros. Since 2024 he moved from Toronto to the Los Angeles Dodgers, was released in August, signed with the San Fancisco Giants, then was traded to the Atlanta Braves where he played four games. He joined the Kansas City Royals, struggled in 37 major-league games but produced strong Triple-A numbers for Omaha (.285/.375/.464 in 41 games). Kansas City released him; he signed with the LA Angels' Triple-A club and later received an Astros camp invitation. His father, Craig Biggio, spent 20 years with Houston and is a Hall of Famer.
