Decimo at The Standard - Spanish Mexican Restaurant Review
"Decimo sits on the 10th floor of the modish Standard hotel in King's Cross. It has terrific views across the Euston Rd onto the Victorian Gothic architecture of the station area and the new developments behind."
"The first thing I noticed when I entered was that Decimo's interior still looked fabulous. It's a sea of vibrant Hispanic colours and textures. The floor-length windows have plaited rope curtains, there's a dramatic open fire, lots of reds and blacks, and a rattan ceiling feature shaped like a sun."
"The Pimentón Paloma, as its name suggests, is a peppery Paloma featuring raspberry and white pepper, smoked paprika, lime and grapefruit soda. It's spicy, full of citrus notes and refreshing."
Decimo, located on the 10th floor of the Standard hotel in King's Cross, combines Spanish culinary heritage with upscale Mexican cuisine under Michelin-starred Chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias's original vision. The restaurant features vibrant Hispanic interior design with colorful textiles, dramatic open fire, and distinctive rattan ceiling. New head chef Paola Meléndez from Mexico City now leads the kitchen. The £30 Menu del Dia lunch menu offers excellent value. The agave-based cocktail list includes standout drinks like the Tardeo Aperitif and Pimentón Paloma. Appetizers feature griddled sourdough with olive oil and marinated red peppers. The restaurant maintains its glamorous atmosphere with terrific views across Euston Road toward Victorian Gothic architecture.
