The American Athletic Conference championship finds Central Florida trying to earn its third-straight invitation to a New Year's Day bowl game.On the Tulane side, the Green Wave hasn't been to a major bowl since 1940 when it played in the Sugar Bowl.Although the Knights won the regular-season meeting, Tulane's Tyjae Spears was named AAC offensive player of the year and Willie Fritz received honors as coach of the year.
