QB Stafford (back) expected to practice Monday
Briefly

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is dealing with an aggravated disk in his back but is expected to return to practice on Monday. Stafford has not practiced during training camp due to back soreness and received an epidural for treatment. Head coach Sean McVay stated that Stafford would be able to play if it were the regular season. Stafford won't practice against the Chargers due to safety concerns. McVay noted that everything is on track for Stafford to prepare adequately before the season opener against the Houston Texans.
McVay emphasized on Thursday that if Stafford was dealing with this back injury in-season, he would be able to play in games.
Stafford will not participate in the Rams' joint practice against the Chargers on Wednesday due to the 'uncontrolled parameters' of going against another team.
Easing him back in and really being able to build him back up is the smart thing.
As of right now, everything is on track to be able to get Stafford a good month of work before the Rams open the season against the Houston Texans.
