LA Galaxy suffered another defeat, making it five losses this season after losing 2-0 to Real Salt Lake. Diego Luna scored both goals for RSL, securing their first win in three matches. The Galaxy struggled offensively, failing to get any of their seven shots on target, with an expected goals (xG) figure of only 0.31. Coach Greg Vanney noted the challenges of playing at altitude while trailing. The Galaxy now find themselves bottom of the Western Conference, having conceded 14 goals in seven games and only scoring five. Their focus is shifting towards the upcoming CONCACAF Champions Cup quarter-finals.
"We had a lot of attacks that looked like they could be promising. Then it becomes an uphill battle when you're at altitude, down two goals."
"I think the field didn't help us out [while defending], but once again, we go back to the same thing."
