Dominiq Ponder, a 23-year-old quarterback for the University of Colorado, has passed away. Ponder was a third-year sophomore from Opa Locka, Florida, who transferred to Colorado from Bethune-Cookman University two seasons ago. During his time with the Buffaloes, he appeared in two games last season with limited offensive statistics, and saw no game action in 2024. Coach Deion Sanders announced the death on social media, expressing that Ponder was well-liked, respected, and demonstrated leadership qualities. The cause of death was not immediately available. Colorado was scheduled to begin spring practice Monday.
