Your Igloo cooler may cause a fingertip amputation. Company recalls 1 million ice chests
Briefly

Igloo is recalling 1 million 90 quart Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers after reports surfaced of customers suffering fingertip injuries, including amputations. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission highlighted that the tow handle poses a risk of pinching against the cooler, leading to potential amputations and fractures. Consumers are recommended to immediately stop using affected coolers and contact Igloo for free handle replacements. The recalled coolers were sold across North America from January 2019 to January 2025, and the recall covers multiple retailers, including Costco and Amazon.
The tow handle can pinch consumers' fingertips against the cooler, posing fingertip amputation and crushing hazards.
Injuries could occur at 'pinching points' which are on or around the handles, latches, hinges, lid, and other moving components on the coolers.
