Wildfire near SF Bay Area doubles in size in 24 hours, triggers evacuations
Briefly

The Boone Fire, reported on Sept. 3 near Coalinga, has rapidly expanded from 6,550 to 12,252 acres in just over 24 hours, emphasizing its aggressive growth.
While about three dozen homes are at risk, the Los Gatos Creek area has more open land than residences, which influences the firefighting strategy, claiming 5% containment.
Cal Fire has noticed a consistent increase in fire activity, particularly in the afternoons when winds switch directions, albeit without extreme fire behavior expected short-term.
Evacuations have been ordered as officials monitor the Boone Fire's rapid spread, exacerbated by exceptional heat and dry conditions typical of this season in California.
