"It's helping out tremendously," said Capt. Steve Concialdi. Conditions such as rising humidity and cooler temperatures are allowing firefighters to work more effectively, minimizing heat-related illnesses.
Despite the relief from humidity, Bryan Lewis cautions that, "We are expecting some fairly strong winds...which could present some issues" for fire containment efforts.
In San Bernardino County, the Line fire was 36% contained thanks to light rain and humidity, which enabled firefighters to enhance control lines around the blaze.
The Bridge fire continues to challenge firefighters, now at 9% containment, with holding lines to prevent further spread, particularly threatening areas under evacuation orders.
