To navigate the costs of living in two cities, we've adopted a creative approach. By paying half the rent for a two-bedroom apartment in Los Angeles, we secured a place to stay while maintaining our home in Wisconsin. This arrangement has allowed us to enjoy the benefits of both locations without giving up what we've built in the Midwest.
While we cherish our house in Wisconsin, where my husband has a job he loves and a low mortgage, the allure of California beckons, especially during the harsh winters. Our new arrangement provides a balance, allowing us periodic access to our roots in LA without sacrificing the stability of our home.
