"After more than six years of development, Washington D.C. restaurateur Rose Previte's ambitious Maydan Market debuted in early October. The hangar-like building houses an outpost of Previte's D.C. restaurants Compass Rose ( which closed earlier this year) and Michelin-recognized Maydan, alongside stalls from five other Los Angeles-based restaurants like Holy Basil, Poncho's Tlayudas, and Tamales Elena. Maydan Market opens with breakfast in the morning from Compass Rose, while the stalls open for lunch; Maydan, the full-service restaurant, is only open for dinner service."
"Momofuku, the David Chang-founded hospitality group behind restaurants that include Chinatown's Majordomo and New York's Noodle Bar and Kabawa, opened Super Peach at the Westfield Century City mall on October 19. The all-day restaurant serves an approachable menu that reads like Momofuku's take on Hillstone-style dining with dishes like Korean fried chicken, gimbap (spelled as kimbap on the menu), lobster noodles, and Chinese chicken salad. With a full liquor license, Super Peach served cocktails like a red miso michelada and the Holiday in the Tropics"
Los Angeles welcomed several notable restaurant debuts across different formats and neighborhoods. Maydan Market opened in a hangar-like building, featuring Compass Rose breakfast service, a Michelin-recognized Maydan for dinner, and stalls from five Los Angeles-based vendors including Holy Basil, Poncho's Tlayudas, and Tamales Elena. Momofuku opened Super Peach at Westfield Century City as an all-day, Hillstone-style casual spot offering Korean fried chicken, gimbap, lobster noodles, Chinese chicken salad, and cocktails such as a red miso michelada and the Holiday in the Tropics. Chef Ray Garcia reopened Broken Spanish as Broken Spanish Comedor in Culver City, bringing back signature dishes and new menu items.
