SoCal fire warning at acute level: 'Particularly Dangerous Situation.' Here's what it means
Briefly

National Weather Service meteorologist Robbie Munroe stated that "Particularly Dangerous Situation" warnings should occur only once every three to five years, but have now appeared twice this fire season.
Munroe cautioned that the extreme fire weather expected could be "similar in magnitude" to the Santa Ana wind event on November 5-6 that fueled the devastating Mountain fire.
The conditions forecasted for the upcoming week are reminiscent of the fire weather that instigated the Thomas fire in 2018, raising concerns about potential destruction.
The last issuing of this warning in Los Angeles and Ventura counties in November resulted in the third-most-destructive wildfire, highlighting the severity of these fire weather conditions.
