A woman from Southern California achieved a $1 million lottery win after her brother purchased tickets on her behalf. She regularly gives him money to buy tickets, and after he scratched one at the store, he informed her of the win. Initially skeptical, she confirmed the news at the lottery office. With her newfound wealth, she plans to invest in income property and reward her brother with a new car, demonstrating gratitude for his role in the win.
"Once in a while I give my brother $20, and because I know he loves to buy tickets, I tell him to buy me a ticket," the woman told lottery officials.
"I think you won," she recalled him saying to her over the phone that day. But she didn't believe him, so he sent a photo of the winning ticket worth $1 million.
"I went to the California Lottery office, and they told me, 'Yeah, you won!' That's when it hit me."
She is considering using her prize to buy an income property and will get her brother a new car.
