"After a leadoff single on a soft ground ball, Sheehan threw a wild pitch to move Randy Arozarena up to second. Julio Rodriguez reached on an error by Michael Conforto that made it a 1-0 lead for the Mariners. Sheehan then made an error of his own, throwing the ball away on a pickoff attempt. But Sheehan ended up striking out the next two hitters to end the inning."
"The offense was somewhat quiet for the Dodgers with a post-clinch-day lineup in the game, but they did enough to win. Dalton Rushing singled and scored on a home run from Kiké Hernández in the third inning to put them up 2-1. The Dodgers extended their lead in the sixth inning when Rushing drove in Conforto, who reached on a walk and advanced to second on a single from Teoscar Hernández. That proved to be the game-winning RBI."
Emmet Sheehan started and struggled in the first inning, throwing a wild pitch and committing a throwing error, but struck out two and was charged with one unearned run in one inning as he transitions to a bullpen role. The Dodgers completed a full bullpen audition with Justin Wrobleski, Will Klein, Anthony Banda and Roki Sasaki combining to hold the Mariners scoreless through seven innings. Dalton Rushing scored on a Kiké Hernández home run in the third and later drove in the decisive run in the sixth. Blake Treinen allowed a run in the eighth while Tanner Scott continued to struggle.
