Prolonged hot temperatures make fighting California wildfires more difficult.
Briefly

Intense firefighting efforts have been bolstered by cooler temperatures around Los Angeles, allowing firefighters to contain major blazes threatening thousands of structures despite rising evacuation orders and smoke.
California's fire season is exacerbated by the aftermath of two wet winters, resulting in overgrowth that, combined with this summer's heat, has left vegetation extremely vulnerable to wildfires.
Currently, California has burned approximately 906,000 acres, exceeding the total burned land of 2022, indicating that we are not yet at the peak of the fire season.
The Line fire, which has reached 26,000 acres in the mountains east of Los Angeles, is posing significant risks to densely populated areas while evacuation notices double the number of threatened structures.
