We were really in a high state of alertness with all that wind coming in from the south there. Resources did an outstanding job being able to hold it.
Crews did an 'outstanding job' holding the fire lines that were built to defend two ski areas, Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe and Sky Tavern, which are both along Mount Rose Highway.
The fire's edge has not moved at all. ... Things are looking really good in there.
The closure went into effect Wednesday, Sept. 11, and is expected to remain in place for two weeks, until Wednesday, Sept. 25.
