On Friday, the Washington Mystics inducted former guard Alana Beard into their Hall of Fame during a game against the Los Angeles Sparks.
During the game, Beard was honored at halftime, receiving a shoutout from Monumental Sports & Entertainment CEO Ted Leonsis, underlining her impactful legacy.
After the game, Beard presented the team's Hard Hat award to Brittney Sykes, who not only wore Beard's No. 20 but also played for the Sparks.
Washington secured an 80-74 victory, which while celebrated, raised questions about their draft lottery positioning amidst a challenging season.
