The Bear Fire, reported around 2 p.m. on Monday, September 2, has rapidly expanded to 1,391 acres by early Tuesday and has prompted mandatory evacuation orders.
Evacuation orders are in effect south of Loyalton due to the wildfire's progression, which is currently mapped and monitored by Forest Service fire managers.
