The man was electrocuted while installing Christmas lights on a tree in San Diego County, causing severe injuries that led to his death after hospitalization.
According to the homeowner, the incident happened when the worker accidentally threw Christmas lights over a live power line, resulting in the tragic electrocution.
Escondido Fire Department Battalion Chief Brian Salazar reported that after SDG&E shut down the power, crews used a ladder truck to access and rescue the victim.
The worker was immediately transported to Palomar Hospital, but despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries following the tragic accident.
