Alfredo "Freddy" Flores, a 22-year veteran deputy, passed away from third-degree burns sustained in a fire at a mobile shooting range in Castaic last October.
The incident led to the shutdown of all mobile firing ranges, initiating internal and federal investigations into the cause to prevent future occurrences.
