Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department sends law enforcement team to Paris Olympics

The department mentioned that 28 LASD members are in France to assist American citizens and athletes while also helping to prepare for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. They aim to enhance capabilities through exposure to different specialized units and gain valuable insights.
LASD team members will learn from international best practices in safety and security, engage in discussions on public safety strategies with officers from various countries, and work towards ensuring a high level of public safety for the LA County community during the upcoming Olympics.
LAPD is sending reserve officers to Paris to work at event sites, supervised by French national police and the Gendarmerie. The French government has temporarily allowed armed overseas officers in the country to provide extra protection, especially for expected visits from L.A. political leaders.
