Lil Nas X Wants a Diversion
"All I wanted to say is to my fans, I really love and I miss you, and I appreciate your support so much. I can't wait to be back hugging you guys."
"His arrest in the early hours of August 21, 2025, came after TMZ posted footage of the singer and rapper walking down Ventura Boulevard in his underwear and cowboy boots. He was later arrested, briefly hospitalized for a potential overdose, and charged with three counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one count of resisting an arresting officer."
"For example, a drug-diversion program could give a defendant the opportunity to complete substance-use classes or rehabilitation in exchange for their criminal charges being dismissed."
Lil Nas X appeared in court on March 12 in Van Nuys, California, seeking a diversion program for his felony police-battery case stemming from an August 2025 arrest. His lawyer requested a delay to file a motion transferring the case to a diversion program, which would allow him to complete rehabilitation or treatment in exchange for charge dismissal. He was arrested after being filmed walking down Ventura Boulevard in underwear and cowboy boots, subsequently charged with three counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one count of resisting arrest. Released on $75,000 bail with conditions including drug abstinence and enrollment in an outpatient program, he later entered an inpatient treatment facility out of state. His next court appearance is scheduled for April 6.
