Hahn Plaza Selected as a Top Project
"Kenneth Hahn Plaza in the Watts-Willowbrook area has been judged one of the top 20 projects in the country in the National Recognition Program for Urban Development Excellence by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development."
"The 14-acre, 172,000-square foot, $24-million Kenneth Hahn Plaza represents the largest development project ever carried out by the county's redevelopment program. Complex financing for the project included developer equity, bond financing and federal assistance."
"The shopping center at 120th Street and Wilmington Avenue is the result of the public/private efforts of the developers, Alexander Haagen Development Co. and the Watts Labor Community Action Committee. It also represents the first substantial private investment in the Willowbrook area in more than 20 years."
