Patricia McKenna, aged 77, died in her home during the devastating Eaton fire that affected over 9,400 structures. Known for her generous spirit and extensive knowledge in art, fashion, and history, McKenna's home housed a remarkable library. Friends recall her passion for sharing books, exemplified when she donated her collection on Scythian culture to a friend. Her passing deeply impacted colleagues from Los Angeles City College and fellow historical reenactors, marking a profound loss to her community and the creative world she cherished.
The library is now ash, McKenna’s longtime friend Cat Winesburg lamented, capturing the loss of the creative spirit and knowledge Patricia shared with others.
McKenna, a generous soul, acquired books and gave them away, creating a unique cycle of sharing knowledge which enriched those around her.
