Keiko Gonzalez, a 59-year-old woman known as 'Moms,' 'La Señora,' and 'The Queen,' was arrested during Operation Dead Horse, an FBI raid targeting the 18th Street Gang in Los Angeles. Gonzalez allegedly ran the gang's criminal operations on behalf of her incarcerated Mexican Mafia husband, managing drug distribution, collecting taxes and rent, and enforcing discipline. The gang dominated MacArthur Park and operated open-air drug markets. Gonzalez is accused of ordering a 2022 gang hit on a drug dealer who refused to pay taxes. The operation resulted in 12 arrests, with six gang members remaining at large. Federal prosecutors describe the 18th Street Gang as one of the most violent gangs in the western hemisphere.
