Esta TerBlanche, a South African actress best known for her role on All My Children, died in Los Angeles at the age of 51.
From 1997 to 2001, Ms. TerBlanche played Gillian Andrassy, a Hungarian princess with a popular enemies-to-lovers story line.
TerBlanche started her career at 16 as a television show host and was crowned Miss Teen South Africa before moving to the US to pursue acting.
She landed a role on South Africa's soap opera Egoli: Place of Gold before moving to the US at 23, recalling her arrival with fear and doubt.
