Edman injured the ankle again earlier this year while sliding into second base and landed on the injured list on May 3 due to right ankle inflammation. Tommy Edman began a rehab assignment at Triple-A Oklahoma City roughly a month after landing on the injured list with a sprained right ankle. He appeared in five rehab games, going 4-for-14 (.286) with three walks and no extra-base hits, and finished his final rehab game on Sunday before returning to Los Angeles. The expectation is that he will be active after two days off and will focus on center field. The Dodgers plan to limit him to one position because of a lengthy history of ankle troubles, and they avoided rushing his recovery to prevent setbacks.
