Dodgers open roster space by moving Blake Snell to 60-day injured list

Blake Snell was transferred to the 60-day injured list, retroactive to May 12, making May 11 the earliest possible return date. The move primarily opened a 40-man roster spot for Santiago Espinal, who was re-signed on Friday. Snell had left elbow surgery on May 19 to remove loose bodies using a NanoNeedle Scope procedure, which typically shortens recovery compared with the usual three-month timeline. Manager Dave Roberts said the surgery went well and recovery is shorter than initially anticipated. Tarik Skubal underwent the same procedure on May 6 and resumed throwing catch quickly, with Dr. Neal ElAttrache performing both surgeries. The Dodgers also optioned Hyeseong Kim to Triple-A, placed Teoscar Hernández on the 10-day IL with a Grade One left hamstring strain, and recalled Ryan Ward.
